Sit Back And Find Yourself

You may wonder how you can find yourself. It is repeated in many self-help and inspirational writings and talks to be yourself. How do you manifest being yourself? How do you know yourself? How can you see who you are in various circumstances that are sometimes sad, scary, sweet and unexpected? You are somewhat different in differing situations and seem to not find a fixed self. Then who are you?

You find yourself when you sit down and relax and naturally feel inclined to ask questions. Those who do not feel naturally inclined to sit back and ask questions tend to sit down when calamity hits them or when they feel lost. Man tends to seek help and solution to problems only after it hits them. Being ready for unforeseen events comes naturally to very few. Either way, it helps to sit down and take a moment to ponder over who you are and what led to the situation that you got into. When you ask questions like why something happened, what you can do to make it work for you, how it impacted you or others, whether you were at fault and so on can open your eyes to who you are. Your strengths, weaknesses, desire and fears seem clear to you.

As you realize other things related to you or life, little pieces of information unfold that influence self-awareness. Knowing yourself may not happen immediately as you think about yourself. However, it is in the act of thinking in quiet that brings self-actualization. It initializes the process. And it is up to you whether you take it forward or take on the attitude of not thinking anything and going with the flow when situations demand. A good balance between thinking and knowing about you and not getting too curious or worried over it seems less tiring.

Some worry about not knowing enough and think a lot, all day. This may cause anxiety, and anxiety is not something anyone wants to harbor. Hence, knowing that you want to know yourself and let some part of you go away for the moment is a way you can handle anxiety and overthinking. Your mind is sometimes thinking one thought and at other times, quite a few. Hence, it is not necessary to catch every thought and feeling to know in depth about them.

What comes out of it is bits of information and realization that make you see what you missed. You will realize something out of nowhere and feel surprised and happy. It is in these moments when you come closer to yourself and feel at a better place to decide for yourself based on what you have found and how it comes together and manifests itself. Knowing about yourself is essential and it is a pleasant experience. It need not be daunting or burdensome. It can take its time and as it carries forward, its own course. You can allow your mind to tread far and wide and find yourself along the path.
